17 September 2025 The J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at University of Galway recently hosted a special event to welcome newly recruited fellows from the University of Galway and the University of Limerick. The gathering, led by ROSETTA’s Principal Investigator, Prof Kieran Conboy and Project Manager, Emma Brinton provided the fellows with an opportunity to connect and begin building a professional network as future leaders in academia and industry.
The Vice Dean for Research met with the group, highlighting the supports available at both college and school level, and emphasised how the fellowship represents a flagship research programme within Digital Responsibility—a key area of strategic focus for the school.
As part of the day’s programme, fellows attended a thought-provoking seminar on “Digital Responsibility: Challenging Assumptions on Time & Tech.” In the afternoon, the EPE Programme Manager from the Lero Research Ireland Centre for Software delivered a session on ‘Education and Public Engagement’, followed by a workshop on Career and Professional Development led by the Head of the Research Development Centre at University of Galway.
The event marks the beginning of an exciting journey for the fellows, strengthening collaboration across institutions and reinforcing the school’s commitment to cutting-edge research and impact.
