Dr Katsiaryna Bahamazava is a ROSETTA postdoctoral fellow with University of Limeick and is undertaking her fellowship under the supervision of Dr Katie Crowley.

Katsiaryna has a bachelor’s degree from Belarusian State Economic University, Republic of Belarus,  a master’s degree from Saint-Petersburg State Economic University, Russian Federation and Ph.D. from University of Turin, Italy.  

With the interdisciplinary background in applied mathematics, AI&ML, data analytics, economics and law, her main interest is Responsible AI.  

Katsiaryna’s ROSETTA project, titled, “XFAIR-MED: Explainable Fairness Audit and Interoperability in Medical AI” will help make the AI models applied to medical field more reliable, non-discriminative and transparent.

In this project she introduces the model-agnostic framework that quantifies and explains the biases emerging from demographic and clinical factors.
