Prof Tony Dundon

University of Limerick

Tony Dundon is Professor of HRM and Employment Relations in the Department of Work & Employment Studies, Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick. He has held previous positions at University of Galway, and visiting research at the University of Sydney; Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane; Toulouse Business School, France; Deakin University, Melbourne; St Andrews University Management School, Scotland. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS); Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA); Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD); former Chief Examiner for the CIPD; and was Editor-in-Chief of the Human Resource Management Journal (HRMJ), along with being Consulting Editor and Editorial Board member for several other well-known journals. He is a Visiting Professor at the Work & Equalities Institute, The University of Manchester, UK.

His research interests include worker voice, technology and digitisation of work in the gig-economy, labour market regulation, HR and performance, and academic labour precarity. His research has been funded by various sources: European Commission, Economic Social Research Council (ESRC), Irish Research Council (IRC). He has published 16 books, over 70 research articles in journals such as Human Relations, British Journal of Industrial Relations, Work Employment & Society, Human Resource Management Journal, Organizational Research Methods, and numerous newspaper pieces in likes of the Irish Times. An impact assessment report entitled ‘Who Speaks for Whom?’ details Professor Dundon wider societal research impacts and collaborative networks.
